Hedgeworld Thomson Reuters has laid off a number of reporters from HedgeWorld, a provider of news and information for the hedge fund industry.  HedgeWorld is expected to continue publishing several newsletters while providing members with access to its online premium news service and service provider directory.

Slate's The Big Money Lands American Express and Infiniti as First Advertisers

Thebigmoney American Express and Infiniti have signed on as the first advertisers of The Big Money, a new website scheduled for a September launch.   The business-focused property from Washington Post.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI)'s Slate Group will cater to Slate Group's educated, affluent audience.  Digitas and OMD are the respective interactive agencies for American Express and Infiniti.

Business.com Network Reaches Nearly A Quarter of U.S. Internet Users

Businesscom The Business.com Network reached 44.7 million unique visitors or 24% of the nearly 190 million Americans online in June.  In the latest Ad Focus survey by comScore Media Metrix, the network ranked 43rd as it delivered business-related sponsored search listings to more than 100 partner sites that include Forbes.com, BusinessWeek.com and Entrepreneur.com.

Google AdWords Targets Business Websites

Googleadwords Google Adwords is making available a partial list of business websites where its advertisements appear.  Websites that advertisers can now target include those for Barron's, Black Enterprise, BloggingStocks, BusinessWeek, CFO.com, Enterpreneur.com, MarketWatch, Nasdaq, Quote.com, SeekingAlpha, The Wall Street Journal, and Zecco.

.Fox Networks Launches Financial Ad Network

Worthnet News Corp.'s .Fox Networks has launched Worthnet.Fox, an online financial ad network with about 30 web site publishers including those from the Wall Street Journal Digital Network which is also owned by News Corp.  With an emphasis on Latin America and other emerging economies, Worthnet.Fox will also be recruiting independent website publishers.  Worthnet.Fox will essentially be the financial advertising arm of .Fox Networks, which currently represents online advertising inventory outside of the United States.
