Merrill Lynch & Company has completed an expected sale of its 20% stake in Bloomberg LP back to the media company. The $4.43 billion transaction gives Bloomberg a total valuation of $22.15 billion. Merrill bought its stake in Bloomberg LP - originally 30% of the company - for only $30 million in 1985. Michael Bloomberg, the founder of the company and the current mayor of New York, will end up with a 92% stake in the financial news and data company.
